The Invisible Woman

Where have I been?  Where to start?  OK, I’ve witnessed Hideki Noda’s The Bee at the Soho, all lacky bands and scary red pencils; Hull Truck’s excellent production of DNA by Dennis Kelly at Salisbury Playhouse; Headlong’s Romeo and Juliet. Good stuff at the Playhouse recently. Could this be influence of new AD, Gareth Machin?  We do hope so.  Summer programmes arrived from Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Festival. I’m like a kid in a ballpond. There’s yer Tim Crouch, yer Paper Birds, yer Blind Summit, and yer Idle Motion. And the brillo Gecko at the Nuffield, Southampton. If you think theatre has limitations, go see Gecko. I love Gecko. I’m going to be very broke. Very soon. You heard it here first.

Scripts are in for the Rocket Project part 3 – Times Six. Let casting commence. David Haworth, Laura Jasper and Jon Nash are directing some off-the-wall pieces by Doo Dah writers: John Yates, Sally Whyte, Linda Morse, David Haworth, Andrew Thackeray. We’re hoping David Bowie will appear on the night. Mmmmm. That’s 7pm, 15 April, Salisbury Arts Centre, if you could let David know.

Tickets are nearly sold out for Dan Rebellato’s Writing for Devising workshop on 24 March at Salisbury Arts Centre. A good mix of writers and actors have signed up so the White Room should be a-buzzing.

Meanwhile, I’m involved in a nifty intergenerational project with Mind The Gap for the over 50s and Manor Fields Primary – we’re creating new Miffs out of old Miffs and this week the dragons are a-drumming. Where’s Harry Potter when you need him?
