New Season New Writing Workshops

It’s been some time since I was here… but here is the New Season of Writing Workshops I’m offering in Salisbury. I hope to offer more Pop Ups in other areas during the year, and to write a few more posts than of late. Without further ado, may I offer you:

Link Up Arts scriptwriting for artists with disabilities. 10:30 – 12:30  starts 19 Sept for 10 weeks  £5 (£3 concs) subsidised by Link Up Arts.

We’ll focus on how to create soundscapes, atmosphere, and locations, as well as creating characters and telling a story using sound, music, silence and speech. You will get a chance to discover and try out techniques to make your radio script stand out and be heard above the cacophony in the BBC Writersroom and on the Internet. A totally aural experience!

We’ll focus on how to create soundscapes, atmosphere, and locations, as well as creating characters and telling a story using sound, music, silence and speech. You will get a chance to discover and try out techniques to make your radio script stand out and be heard above the cacophony in the BBC Writersroom and on the Internet. A totally aural experience!

This writing workshop is suitable for all levels of writing experience.

Writing 10 Minute Plays

Come to sunny Poole!  Still a few places left on this play writing workshop to be hosted at Little Red Roaster coffee house in Lower Parkstone, Poole on Tuesday July 14.

6.30 – 9pm with refreshments available from 6pm

This pens-on workshop will be sprinkled with hints and tips on what makes a winning short play. Be prepared to write!! By the end of the evening you should have enough new material to develop and write your play.

Tickets are just £12.50

And there will be an opportunity for further discussion after the workshop.

Opportunity to perform @ Salisbury Arts Centre

Salisbury Arts Centre and Hoodwink Theatre Company invite you to be a part of the 2015 Family Fiesta.

We’re celebrating our 40th birthday, and would like your help to make things go with a swing.

Create film, poetry, dance, music, pottery, animation, comedy, magic and artworks of any shape or form, and be prepared to share them with the public through our special 4th plinth stage. This is an opportunity to showcase your creative talents in public to up to 400 people. And yes – there will be a prize!

Guidelines

  • Anyone can enter, whether you’re a child, young person or adult, beginner or professional artist

  • All work should be suitable for a family audience

  • Performances should be no longer than 5 minutes

  • The theme is “celebration” – you can interpret this as you wish, perhaps thinking about special occasions, parties, anniversaries, and why you love and want to celebrate the arts and creative activities

  • Able to perform outside or inside (weather permitting!)
